The holiday season is here, and with it comes along the hustle and bustle of gift-giving. Where do you start? Perhaps you want to do something different for someone in your life this year. Perhaps you’re looking to give gifts that provide experiences, instead of material things.
Did you know you could purchase a gift membership to Crystal Bridges? It’s the same process as getting a membership for yourself, only this time, the membership would be in the name of whomever you wish to gift it.
Here are five reasons why you should give a gift membership to Crystal Bridges this holiday season:
Becoming a Crystal Bridges member provides access and discounts to museum offerings all year round, including discounted tickets to artist talks, adult workshops, and other programs, discounts in the Museum Store, and special prices and offerings at Eleven (free dessert, anyone?).
Can you think of someone who has always wanted to take an art class but didn’t know where to start? Or someone who’s always looking to do fun, affordable, cultural activities with friends? Crystal Bridges offers a multitude of events and workshops for folks to engage in all year long.
One of the most exciting benefits of a Crystal Bridges membership is getting free access to all of the museum’s temporary exhibitions throughout the year! For 2020, your friend or loved one will get to see the following shows for free, PLUS free guest tickets:
Hank Willis Thomas: All Things Being Equal… | February 8 to April 20, 2020
Featuring 80+ artworks including photographs, sculptures, and mixed media, this is the first comprehensive survey of this acclaimed and award-winning artist’s career. $12 for non-members.
Ansel Adams: In Our Time | May 23 to September 7, 2020
Take a trip across the American West through the lens of Ansel Adams and more than 20 contemporary photographers whose modern-day environmental concerns point directly to Adams’s legacy. $12 for non-members.
Craft | October 10, 2020 to February 1, 2021
Featuring over 90 works in ceramics, fiber, wood, metal, glass, and more, Craft presents an inclusive story of American craft from the 1940s to today, featuring artists such as Ruth Asawa, Sheila Hicks, and Faith Ringgold. $12 for non-members.
Members are invited to participate in exclusive events such as behind-the-scenes tours, member previews, participation in double discount days at the Museum Store, and more. Members are also invited to take family photos at Crystal Bridges with a professional photographer twice a year.
By becoming a Crystal Bridges member and signing up for the Member enewsletter, your recipient will receive notifications on new, exclusive events as they arise throughout the year.
If you’re a current Crystal Bridges member looking to spread the joy of a museum membership to your friends and family, we’ll reward you with 10% off your purchase of a gift membership. Additionally, gift memberships are tax-deductible!
In addition to giving a fun gift, the money you spend on a membership is also being put forth for a good cause. When you become a Crystal Bridges member (or extend that membership to someone you love), your support helps fund the free or low-cost events, classes, and community outreach that allow Crystal Bridges to make the power of art and nature accessible to all.
