The Crystal Bridges Overlook provides a multi-level stone seating area on the west side of the ravine overlooking the Museum campus. The Overlook, which was designed by Crystal Bridges Director of Grounds and Facilities Scott Eccleston, features two curved seating areas that offer views of the Museum campus to both the north and south.
The structure is integrated into the natural hillside and landscaped with redbud and dogwood trees. Its organic shape is meant to complement the curved architecture of the Museum’s buildings, designed by Moshe Safdie.
The Overlook is accessible via a short natural surface trail that connects to the Crystal Bridges Trail, a little more than half a mile from the trailhead on NE 3rd Street. For a shorter walk, you may also access the trail to the Overlook from the parking and public rest area located on N.E. A street.
