The Politics of the Present in Conversation with the Past
Join us for a thought-provoking two days of lively presentations and informal discussion to examine the intersection of art in political discourse and social practice. Expect the unexpected at this gathering of artists, art historians, curators, students, and art enthusiasts to talk about issues of identity, race, class, gender, the environment from the perspective of current artistic practice as well as through the lens of historical works in the Crystal Bridges collection. The program will begin with an opening lecture on the evening of Friday, April 7, and a full day of interchange on Saturday, April 8th.
