Concert » Olga Kern Dedication Concert
In collaboration with the Cliburn, Crystal Bridges presents a special concert showcasing a grand piano formerly belonging to the great pianist Van Cliburn, which was recently gifted to the Museum. The concert will be performed by Olga Kern, who is recognized as one of her generation’s great pianists. With her vivid stage presence, passionately confident musicianship, and extraordinary technique, the Russian-born American pianist continues to captivate fans and critics alike. Kern was born into a family of musicians with direct links to Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, and began studying piano at the age of five. In 2001, Kern received the Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas–the first woman to do so in more than 30 years.
