December 1 is #GivingTuesday, a worldwide day of giving to usher in the charitable season. Now in its fourth year, #GivingTuesday harnesses the power of social media to encourage people to affect change in their communities through focused giving—of time, of resources, and of talents. Celebrate philanthropy by participating in the movement with Crystal Bridges through membership.

Margaret Whillock joined Crystal Bridges before the Museum opened, and she has been singing its praises ever since. “I realized early on the advantages Crystal Bridges would bring to the people of Arkansas—and the nation, really—but particularly to the people in our community. It’s just wonderful,” she said. “It’s multigenerational. There is something for everyone, from very young children to very old people. I’m so proud to support Crystal Bridges.” To share her pride with those she loves, Whillock has often purchased gift memberships for her family. Giving the gift of membership allows her to further support the Museum while simultaneously providing her loved ones with a year of expanded access to arts programming. Whillock knows the importance of access to the arts. As a child, her mother would often take her and her siblings to the symphony and to museums. This instilled in her a deep affection for the arts that has never dulled. “My granddaughter Ava loves the Museum. We’ve been bringing her from the beginning, so she’s very aware of Crystal Bridges. It’s a family place, and I love that. Children are really made to feel like they are a part of the Museum.” “Crystal Bridges has transformed the quality of life in our community because it offers so much,” said Whillock. “I see people from all walks of life at the Museum. This is what the founder, Alice Walton, wanted: for anyone to be able to come to the Museum and enjoy it, especially people who haven’t been able to access a museum before.”
