Just in time for the holidays: Jan Hagan, Crystal Bridges Call Center Guru, offers up more tips for those who are visiting Crystal Bridges for the first time. (See the first installation of Jan’s list here.)
SEVEN – Plan to take in one of our free “drop in” tours. From gallery tours such as the Collection Highlights, Inspiring Women and Twilight Tour to the outdoor seasonal tours and the always popular Architecture Tour, Crystal Bridges has tours available each day that are free. All you need to do is drop in at the appointed time and place and you will enjoy a tour led by one of our highly trained Gallery Guides. Tip: be sure to arrive about 15 minutes early to secure a space. Tours are limited to a maximum of 15 participants.
SIX – Take in the treasures offered in our Museum Store. – It is much more than a gift shop – Crystal Bridges Museum Store features a variety of home goods, jewelry, fine art prints from our permanent art collection, as well as original art works from some of our regions’ most talented artists. Tip: check out the Museum website for special Museum Store promotions and artist trunk shows.
FIVE – Reserve a table for dinner or brunch at Eleven. The museum restaurant, Eleven, is really a tale of two restaurants in one. During the day, the restaurant services our guests with a wonderfully varied menu of unique “high south” comfort-food favorites, served in an efficient cafeteria style. However, on Wednesday and Friday nights when the Museum is open until 9 p.m., Eleven transforms into a wonderfully elegant dining environment where there is menu service by our attentive wait staff and a delicious menu, which includes a Chef’s Tasting Menu that changes regularly, created by our innovative chef, Bill Lyle.
Tip: Come in early for our Culture Hour experience between 5 and 7 p.m. and enjoy live music and reduced pricing on selected drinks and appetizers! You can also browse the Museum galleries before or after your meal!
