Bookbinding for Artists: An Exploration of Structure

Book art is a dynamic field that encompasses a complex history of traditional bookbinding and innovation by its practitioners. Explore the concept of “the book” and its place in American art. In this intensive two-day workshop, participants will be introduced to the tradition of bookbinding as an art form through a combination of making and exploring. You will gain a basic knowledge of the hand skills and materials used in beginning bookbinding and make at least four book structures to take home. This weekend intensive is presented by the Little Mountain Bindery owner Lesha Shaver.
